Robert "Beaver" Simms, Jr., 67, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, March 16, 2024, peacefully with his daughter, Kara by his side.
He was born August 12, 1956, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Robert and Mary Casacchia Simms.
Mr. Simms proudly served his country with the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed cooking and fishing, and was an avid gardener. He loved his grandchildren and loved being a pap pap. Robert was a member of the White Eagles and French Club in Canonsburg. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a welder.
Surviving are his wife, Cynthia Simms, of Canonsburg; his son, Ryan Simms, of Canonsburg; his daughter, Kara Simms, of Canonsburg; sisters, Adele (George) Saut, of Florida, Mary Ann (Jeff) Ogrodowski, of Blairsville, Sandra (Mark) Loveland, of Washington; grandchildren, Peyton Ranegar, and Isabella Simms; step children, Cassidy Cain, Alexandra Cain, and Lianna Cain; step grandchild, Aurora Cain; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Wednesday, 2-4 and 6-8pm, at Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services, LTD, 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, 724-746-1000.
Services will be held Thursday at 9am, followed by burial in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, with full military honors rendered by VFW post 191 honor guard.
